Terpenic White Beeswax White beeswax, or cera alba, is one of the essential ingredients in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations. Obtained from the honeycomb wax of bees (Apis mellifera L.) and subjected to physical purification and refining processes, we obtain a highly pure product, as detailed below. Beeswax in various purity levels has been used since ancient times. It softens and nourishes the dermis, helping to prevent skin aging. Its emollient properties are also notable, as well as its plastic and elastic texture, giving consistency to the emulsions. In cosmetics, it is used to care for delicate, especially dry skin in the form of creams, ointments, plasters, lipsticks, cleansing creams, and facial masks. It is also used in beekeeping to facilitate the construction of honeycombs. In food, it is used as a food additive and in the production of biodegradable and reusable packaging. It is recommended to heat the hydrophilic and lipophilic parts separately at 60ºC, add the aqueous phase to the oily phase and stir until cooling. Essential oils are best incorporated during the cooling process (<30ºC) except in the case of oleoresins.
