This Cicerone walking guidebook describes 45 walking routes on the Isle of Arran. The routes are between 3km and 32km in length, ranging from easy waymarked forest trails to more arduous mountain walks, exposed ridge routes and scrambles. Most routes are 10km to 15km long but many give opportunities to create longer cross-island walks. It also includes one of Scotland's Great Trails, the 110km Arran Coastal Way. Highlights of this Walking on Arran guidebook include the ascent of Goatfell, nearby Holy Isle, Beinn Tarsuinn, the Sannox Horseshoe, Glen Rosa and the Cock of Arran. There are linear and circular walks to choose from so there's something to suit walkers of all tastes and all levels of fitness. For each route there is a step-by-step description and OS mapping at a scale of 1:50,000.  There are extra notes revealing the archaeology, history and natural wonders of the island. Plus there is background information on travel to Arran, public transport, and a useful Gaelic/English glossary.
