Sculpturally designed Viking pendant made of 925 sterling. The warrior's head is adorned with a wolf's skin. The pendant is partially blackened on the front. Dimensions: approx. 28 mm high x approx. 20 mm wide x approx. 13 mm thick Inner dimensions of the eyelet: approx. 6 mm high x approx. 4 mm wide Weight: approx. 7.2 g The jewellery pendant comes with a black and silver basket chain made of 925 sterling silver. The noble necklace is about 1.5 mm thick and partially oxidized. We offer three different lengths: 45 cm, 55 cm and 65 cm. Background: According to Norse mythology, the father of the gods Odin owned two wolves: Geri and Freki (the greedy and the gluttonous). According to the Edda, Odin left all the food served to him in Valhalla to his wolves, since he himself drank only mead. But Odin's fate is also closely linked to another wolf: In the world conflagration Ragnarök, the father of the gods is devoured by Fenrir, the giant Fenris wolf.  Just like ravens, wolves were also considered animals of the battlefield by the Vikings.
