描述
Purpose
This product is mainly used for physics demonstration in middle school to transfer fluid to pressure.
Structure
At one end of the round tube there is a metal ball in the chamber, on which there are ten nozzles directed in different directions. A piston is installed in the tube. The piston is made of an oil resistant rubber ring. The piston rod protrudes from the lid and is equipped with a handle.
Operation
- Unscrew the hollow ball.
- Dip the hollow ball into water.
- Lift the plunger to draw water under the ball.
- Fill the hollow ball with water and insert the ball into the cylinder while it is in the water.
- Lift the entire instrument out of the water and slowly push it down.
- The plunger and water spray from the small holes of the nozzles in all directions, indicating that the liquid is being transferred under pressure.
Note
Plan the spray direction in advance by arranging the nozzle outlets to avoid spraying water toward teachers and students.
Benefits and key attributes
- Demonstrates fluid pressure transfer in a tangible, classroom-friendly device.
- Ten directional nozzles provide a clear visual of spray patterns when pressure is applied.
- Piston with an oil resistant rubber ring delivers a reliable seal and durable operation.
- Piston rod with a handle enables easy manual control and manipulation.
- Compact, portable design suitable for desk or lab bench use in school settings.
- Water-based operation using simple steps makes it accessible for routine demonstrations.
Specifications and suitability
- Intended use: physics demonstration in middle school laboratories.
- Core components: round tube with a metal ball and ten nozzles, piston with oil resistant rubber ring, handle-equipped piston rod.
- Materials: metal ball and tube components, rubber seal for the piston.
- Operation: manual pressure by moving the plunger to spray water through the nozzle holes.
- Safety consideration: arrange nozzle spray direction in advance to prevent unintended spray toward people.
Applications and use scenarios
- Classroom demonstration of fluid pressure transfer and spray behavior under pressure, illustrating a basic hydraulic principle.
- Lab activity to observe how changing spray directions affects the visualization of pressure transmission.
- Small-group experiments in which students perform the steps to draw, fill, and release water, then compare spray patterns and discuss the underlying physics.
