Sparx FLAT slip ring

Sparx FLAT grinding ring – grind the blade flat, start a new grind. The FLAT ring removes the existing hollow grind from the blade, allowing you to cleanly start a new grind. Its specially formulated, coarse abrasive removes more material in less time than a radius or FIRE ring. This is how you remove even deep nicks and damage – while protecting your actual grinding ring. Here's how Sparx recommends it: Setting a new hollow grind: 3 to 4 passes with the FLAT Ring, then 6 to 8 passes with the Radius Ring (8 to 10 for very deep hollow grinds). Small nicks: 5 to 6 passes with the FLAT Ring. More significant damage: 6 to 8 passes, then 2 to 3 more each time until the damage is no longer visible. Afterwards, always: grind 6 to 8 passes with the Radius or FIRE Ring. Compatibility: For the Sparx grinding machines ES200 and Sharpener 3 (ES300). Good to know: The FLAT Ring alone does not produce a ready-to-ride grind. Always grind afterwards with a Radius or FIRE Ring. For the FeatherBlend function on the Sharpener 3, Sparx recommends the FLAT Ring together with the FeatherBlend Riser.
