This is a genuine Sirrus by Gummers SK1850-2 thermostatic cartridge which includes the wax thermostat element.Most other retailers don't include the wax element with the SK1850-2, however the wax element is the heart of the cartridge and is the part which adjusts the temperature of the water. This SK1850-2 is used in a number of valve including Bristan 1901. Two thermostatic cartridges have been used in the 1901 range. Bristan SK1850-2 Removal and Installation Before starting, please switch off hot and cold water supplies.1. Flick the centre indice out of the temperature control handle. Then, proceed to unscrew the retaining screw you’ll find once the indice is out.2. Remove the handle assembly. (Followed by the circlip and the flow control handle.)3. Pull the sleeve out to access the old thermostatic cartridge.4. Use a 46mm spanner to twist the cartridge anti-clockwise to remove. Also, remove the thermostat and piston assembly and the spring.5. Assemble the new Bristan / Sirrus SK1850-2. Apply a thin layer of silicone grease on all the O-rings of the cartridge. 6. Fit the new shower cartridge in the valve seat. Tighten in place using the 46mm spanner. 7.
