Douglas Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate is a food supplement that provides vitamin B6 in a highly assimilated form. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P) is the metabolically active coenzyme of vitamin B6. The body must convert vitamins B6 into pyridoxal and then transform it into its phosphorylated form (P5P) in the liver. This conversion is necessary, since P5P is the only way in which it can be used by enzymes that participate in biochemical processes, associated with protein and nitrogen metabolism and the synthesis of the heme group. It is recommended fo adults take 1 capsule daily or as directed by your healthcare professional. Not suitable for children under 17 years of age. Taking high doses of vitamin B-6 for long periods of time can cause mild tingling and numbness. Do not exceed the expressly recommended daily dose. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle.
