Place the circular track on a flat desk and level the base frame. 2. Load a steel ball on an inclined rail at the starting height and release it. 3. The ball rolls down, enters the vertical circular track, and can pass the point if the starting height is sufficient. 4. After passing the it continues to the next inclined rail and is collected in the bag. 5. Repeat the trial, lowering the starting height gradually. At a certain reduced height the ball will no longer pass the but will deviate from the track near the point, follow a curved trajectory, and land on the lower track. This behavior illustrates the threshold condition for completing the circular orbit.
