Detailed Viking amulet made of 925 sterling silver. The pendant is partially blackened on the front, the back is fluted. The central element of the pendant is the tree of life Yggdrasil. Meaning of symbols: According to Norse mythology, the tree of life Yggdrasil was the first tree created on earth by the divine race of the Aesir. Its roots reach into the underworld, its crown into the sky, and so it stands as a symbol of the cosmos as a whole and the renewal of life. Yggdrasil is also known as the world tree or world ash. According to tradition, the father of the gods Odin owned two wolves: Geri and Freki (the greedy and the voracious). According to the Edda, Odin gave his wolves all the food served to him in Valhalla, as he himself drank only mead. Celtic knots have neither beginning nor end and therefore serve as a symbol of infinity or eternity.
