Description

Very massive, ornate bronze Viking axe. The decoration is located on both sides of the axe blade and is blackened so that it comes into its own. Dimensions: approx. 44 mm high x approx. 33 mm wide In diameter of the eyelet: approx. 6.4 mm weight: approx.14 g The jewelry pendant is delivered including black cotton ribbon. Background: Xes were an integral part of the everyday life of the Vikings. In addition to simple working axes, there were more and more special fighting axes in the course of the Viking Age, which were very thin and sharp. Often the axe blades were richly decorated, so that the weapons were also used for solemn ceremonial occasions.
