Carefully crafted jewelry pendant "Irminsul" made of 925 sterling silver. The pendant is partially blackened on the front, so that the artistic design comes into its own. Dimensions: approx. 34 mm high x approx. 20 mm wide Internal dimensions of the eyelet: approx. 6 mm high x approx. 5 mm wide Weight: approx. 5 g The pendant is delivered including a black cotton band. Meaning of the symbol: The Irminsul was the highest sanctuary of the pagan Saxons in the early Middle Ages. The name roughly means "big pillar". Researchers suspect that this pillar was a vertically erected tree trunk that was supposed to carry the entire universe. More details are not known, because Charlemagne destroyed the sanctuary in 772. Nevertheless, the Irmin Column is often interpreted as a world tree and thus associated with the tree of life Yggdrasil.
