Primeal brown lentils. Rinse a handful of lentils, place them in a saucepan with cold water, bring to a boil for 1 minute, then drain them (this step helps ensure the lentils are easily digestible). Continue cooking in 3 times their volume of water, covered, for 30 to 45 minutes. It is possible to reduce this cooking time to 20/25 minutes by soaking the lentils overnight.
