El Naturalista Oat Flakes, from Oats (Avena sativa) are cereals rich in carbohydrates and high in fiber. Oat flakes are considered the whole, pressed grains of oats. Oats have abundant mineral salts, among which we highlight iron, manganese, calcium and zinc. It also contains significant amounts of ß-glucans that are considered beneficial as an adjunct to blood glucose regulation treatments. Of the carbohydrates, the majority is starch, although it also contains small amounts of fructose and fiber in significant amounts. It also contains an alkaloid (non-toxic) avenin, with a sedative effect on the nervous system, and vitamin B1 or thiamine (necessary for the proper functioning of this same system). Properties: Due to its contribution to mucilages, it is considered to soften the mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract and therefore it is recommended in cases of digestive disorders. Its content in starch, avenin and thiamine (vitamin B1), its consumption is adequate in cases of nervousness and fatigue. Different studies associate the consumption of oats with the decreased risk of cardiovascular diseases. It is recommended to eat to taste, alone or add to meals.
