Description
Dismag Natural Epsom Salts. Epsom salts can be used in baths, dissolved in warm water. In these baths, magnesium absorption is topical, through the skin, with hair follicles playing a crucial role. Magnesium ions are able to pass through the stratum corneum of the skin through these follicles, depending on the concentration of magnesium in the water and the length of the bath.
According to the OCU, the reasons why people use these salts are due to their effects as an exfoliant and, above all, as a relaxing bath.
Its exfoliating body cleanser's effect is explained by the abrasive exfoliating and cleansing effect of its texture. However, it's important to note that it's not recommended for swollen skin, infections, and open wounds or burns.
In the form of a bath, dissolved in warm water, the use of Epsom salts is linked to the reduction of stress and muscle discomfort. Current scientific evidence, beyond its traditional use, speaks to this benefit in the context of the bath itself, where taking a moment to relax and feel good in the bath itself helps to unwind.
Relieves muscle tension and promotes muscle relaxation. This can be beneficial from the perspective of musculoskeletal discomfort.
In the case of skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis, there is currently insufficient scientific evidence to establish a causal benefit. However, some studies are beginning to appear that appear to show symptomatic improvements in patients using them (for example, in the treatment of itching and scaling).
Likewise, the report by the University of Birmingham's Faculty of Biosciences concludes that "Epsom salt baths are an easy and safe way to increase sulfate and magnesium levels in the body," and may contribute to normal magnesium intake.
Dismag recommends using between 1 and 2 kg of salt per bath, at a temperature of 30°C (warm) and lasting 20 minutes. Considering the average volume of water needed to fill a bathtub, this would be a 0.5-1% Epsom salt bath, which is optimal for absorbing magnesium into the body.
Refrain from using these baths if you have any open wounds or burns. People who tend to have low blood pressure (hypotensive) should be cautious or consult a doctor before using these baths. Keep out of reach of young children.
