AVD Reform's Cordyceps Micotherapy is a dietary supplement made from Cordyceps sinensis, a medicinal mushroom with a wide range of uses. Native to the Himalayas, it grows at altitudes above 3,000 meters and has been used in China for approximately two thousand years. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is considered a powerful kidney tonic and enhances vital energy. This supplement contains a high level of cordycepin, a metabolite that helps control swelling and, together with specific polysaccharides, contributes to the proper production of testosterone and steroid hormones. Cordyceps sinensis also contains proteins, peptides and all essential amino acids, polysaccharides and glycoproteins with immunomodulatory effects, sterols, including ergosterol (precursor of vitamin D), nucleoside analogues, polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, including B1, B2, B12, E and K, and various minerals. Numerous clinical studies have shown that Cordyceps improves liver function (activation of Kupffer cells), reduces osteoarticular swelling and promotes libido. It is recommended to take 1 or 2 capsules a day, preferably away from meals. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
