This excellent wood carving U gouge is made in Japan by Michihamono, a renowned carving tool manufacturer, from high-speed steel that contains chromium for enhanced hardness and vanadium for improved wear and abrasion resistance. The short, ergonomic handle made from strong walnut wood makes it easy for you to use it with one hand when carving, resulting in clean, smooth cuts every time. This tool has a ferrule that compresses the handle and ensures it can withstand the blows of a hammer.With its round sweep, this tool can carve grooves without the corners of the blade damaging the grain of your wood. This tool is useful for roughing out, due to its ability to remove large amounts of wood.
