The tang of the blade is embedded in a durable, wooden handle made out of Japanese cherry blossom wood that feels comfortable to wield and gives you great control when using. This tool is sharp right out of the packaging and will provide many years of service.This tool is great in relief carving for reaching surfaces under rising parts of the wood, where a straight gouge can't access. Great for carving spoons, bowls, and other similar woodwork.
