It is a soft silicone menstrual cup that you can reuse every time you have your period. It was designed by women as a convenient, safe and environmentally friendly alternative to tampons and sanitary pads. It is 5 cm long and has a 'stem' to help with extraction. Since vaginal length varies, the stem is designed to be trimmed if necessary. Once the Mooncup is in, it opens and forms a light seal with the vaginal wall that holds it in place. It sits lower than a tampon and works by collecting menstrual blood. Size B is for women under 30 years of age who have not delivered vaginally. It is recommended to part the labia, fold the cup using the c-fold and place it as low in the vagina as you can comfortably sit (lower than a tampon). The base of the cup should be as low as possible in the vagina. As vaginal length varies, the first time you use your Mooncup, you may need to trim the stem to better fit you. With clean hands, gently press the bottom of the cup to release the seal and then slide the cup out. Flush the contents down the toilet. We recommend emptying it every 4-8 hours.
