Natural Marseille square soap Shea butter, a palm oil-free soap, enriched with olive oil and coconut oil from Le Chatelard 1802. All soaps are handmade in the workshops of Le Chatelard 1802 in St Auban sur Ouvèze, Provence (France). Due to the pH neutral formula, these soaps do not dry out the skin. They are a source of intense hydration and softness. The soaps are subtly scented with flowers, fruit and other natural ingredients, giving them rich foam that nourishes, hydrates and is wonderfully scented. This 100% natural soap is traditionally produced by mixing water from the Mediterranean Sea with olive oil, with or without other vegetable oils, sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide. This mixture is heated in a large cauldron for several days, stirring the mixture constantly. This gives it plenty of time to 'ripen', after which it is poured into moulds to harden further. When the soap is still soft, it is already cut into the right shape and stamped. The whole process can take up to a month.
