Contains gamma tocopherol, a very important form of vitamin E. Tocopherols belong to the vitamin E family and are antioxidants that inhibit free radicals in the human body, thereby counteracting the aging process and protecting cells. Most commercial vitamin E supplements contain very small amounts, if they contain gamma tocopherol (a specific type of vitamin E) at all. Special to this type of vitamin E is that it is highly effective against one of the most dangerous free radicals in the body: peroxynitrite. This free radical is a big culprit in encouraging age-related decline which is why using gamma tocopherol to inhibit this type of free radical can help counteract the aging process. The tocopherol supplement has been fortified with standardized sesame lignans. Sesame lignans have been shown to promote antioxidant activity in tissues by increasing the levels of two antioxidant vitamins, vitamin C and E.
