Why this tool is useful
Reliable fusion for PP strapping: specifically suited to machinemade PP hotmelt packing tape, providing consistent welded joints for medium and light duty bundling.
Portable and easy to handle: lightweight pliers design and a 2.5 m power cord make it practical for use on packing lines, in warehouses, and at loading docks.
Controlled heating and fusion: simple squeezeandhold operation helps achieve repeatable welds while allowing adjustment of fusion timing for different strap thicknesses.
Main functions and performance notes
Operates by heating and pressing two overlapping strap ends together until the thermoplastic fuses.
Suitable for strapping widths from 9 mm to 16 mm and strap thickness between 0.6 mm and 1.5 mm.
Heating ready time varies with temperature and tape thickness; typical readiness is within 30 seconds to a few minutes after power on.
For thicker PP tape allow longer fusion times; for thinner tape use shorter fusion times to avoid excess melt.
How to use
1. Use only machinemade PP hotmelt packing tape.
2. Turn the power on and wait about 30 seconds for the strapping head to start heating. Note that full effective heating may take 3 to 5 minutes depending on ambient temperature and tape thickness.
3. Place the two strap ends so that the heating pieces engage correctly one above the other; do not stack straps in the same plane in the heating zone.
4. Squeeze the handle and hold for about 1 to 2 seconds to start the fusion.
5. When the heating head retracts, clamp the jaws firmly and hold the straps together for about 2 seconds to complete the weld.
6. Release the handle and allow the heating head to to its initial position before removing the strapped item.
7. Do not pull or tear the strap while it is still hot or before it has cooled and set.
Maintenance and troubleshooting
Heating readiness: heating elements generally reach useful temperature in 3 to 5 minutes after power on. Thick tape will require longer fusion time.
Adjust fusion time by trial: thin straps have lower heat of fusion and may need longer fusion cycles or trial runs to find the setting.
Ensure the two fusion surfaces contact each other instantly when the heating head retracts; clamp firmly for about 2 seconds for a good weld.
For heavy items, two consecutive heat fusions can improve reliability.
Keep the ironing head clean: melted strap material can seep and accumulate on the heating surface. Frequent cleaning prevents buildup from entering insulating layers and causing faults.
When the ironing head is hot, scrape off any glue residue with a blade. Do not wash the heating head with water.
If molten material has caused internal contamination or a short, do not use the tool again until the heating head and affected areas have been cleaned and inspected.
Typical applications
Securing boxes and cartons for palletizing on light to medium packing lines.
Bundling plastic or wood profiles, pipes, and smaller construction materials for transport and storage.
Strapping small metal rods, tubes, or bundled components where PP hotmelt tape is appropriate.
What to expect in operation
A quick warmup period followed by controlled fusion when the handle is squeezed and held.
Consistent results when using the recommended PP tape and following the fuseandhold steps.
Simple, toolstyle operation suitable for repetitive packing tasks with attention to cleaning and correct strap placement.
Warnings and precautions
Use only machinemade PP hotmelt packing tape as specified.
Do not attempt to separate straps immediately after heating; allow the weld to cool and set before handling.
Avoid letting melted material flow into the heating head or insulating layers. Clean the heating head regularly.
Do not wash the heating head with water. Clean by scraping while hot and inspecting for residue.
This description follows the product specifications and operating guidance provided and is intended to support safe, effective use and routine maintenance of the electric strapping welding tool for PP tape.
