Flautist, composer and educator Eddie Parker is a stalwart of the UK Jazz scene. He first came to prominence as a key contributor to seminal 1980s big band Loose Tubes. The Debussy Mirrored Ensemble marks a return to arrangement and composition for Parker, after many years in education. <p>The ensemble re-imagines the music of Debussy through new compositions - and this recording (from a London Jazz Festival performance broadcast on BBC Radio 3) captures the essence of their music. <p>The performance blurs the lines between jazz and classical writing, taking inspiration from the composer's original themes and creating something totally new. <p>Eddie has handpicked this 12 piece ensemble to turn his creative vision into reality.
