To use this Craft Sha FLINT Conical Leather Edge Slicker Leathercraft Round Ebony Burnishing Tool, simply apply your favourite burnishing gum (Craft Sha burnishing gum is recommended) to the untreated flesh side, or edge of your vegetable tanned leather generously and evenly, before firmly, and vigorously rubbing your leather with this tool. To burnish the flat side of your leather, place your leather (flesh side up) on a hard surface and rub until the fibres are flattened and a smooth sheen is achieved. For edge slicking, with burnishing gum applied to the edge of your leather, insert the leather into the groove that snuggly fits, but does not pinch, your leather and vigorously run back and forth until a smooth, burnished edge is obtained.
