In order to achieve a darker color, extend the exposure time and apply heat. After rinsing, no shampoo or conditioner is required, but can be used if desired. Once the process is complete, it is important to note that hair can continue to darken for up to five days. When the color is applied for the first time it may not provide optimal results, especially if the hair is very gray or if it has been severely damaged by chemical processes in the past. Consequently, it may be necessary to repeat the process 2 or 3 times in order to achieve the desired result. This should be done in 24 hour intervals.
