Description

Coil Kit with Plasma Speaker, DIY Wireless Energy Transfer, Mini Audio Arc Generator 12V

This DIY Tesla coil kit combines a plasma speaker function with wireless energy demonstration and visible voltage arcs. It converts audio input from a phone or computer into air vibrations produced by electric arcs, delivering a distinctive audiovisual demonstration tool for hobbyists, makers, and educators. Key benefits Converts audio into visible plasmadriven sound for a clear and novel demonstration of sound and electricity. Demonstrates wireless energy transfer by lighting neon tubes and energysaving lamps without direct wiring. Compact operation on lowvoltage DC for convenient bench or desktop use and classroom demonstrations. Good learning platform for soldering, circuit assembly, and power electronics using real components. Main features Audio playback via plasma arcs: connect a phone or computer to the audio input to drive the arcs as a plasma speaker. Wide input range: operates from 12V to 24V DC. Recommended supply current is at least 2A for reliable operation. At 24V the ideal arc length is about 5 to 10 mm. Kit contents: PCB, resistors, capacitors including a 10 uF electrolytic, LED, audio socket, power sockets, transistors and MOSFETs matching the PCB layout, heatsink, and a stepbystep soldering guide. Component models: MOSFET 80NF70 and transistor BD243 correspond to the board layout as supplied. Indicators and connections: blue LED indicates power supply status; audio socket for external devices; power can be taken from a DC block or a fan interface when suitable. Assembly highlights and checklist Resistors: solder 10K resistors at R1 and R4, and 2K resistors at R3 and R5. Confirm values match the PCB labels. Polaritysensitive parts: fit the electrolytic capacitor with the long lead to positive and the short lead to negative. Install the LED with the long lead positive and the short lead negative. Verify polarity before powering. Transistors and MOSFETs: install in the positions shown on the PCB. Apply thermal grease to the heatsink and secure parts properly. Audio input and sockets: solder the audio socket and power sockets firmly to the board. Tesla coil mounting: when mounting the coil in the alternate orientation follow the guide to solder the short wire to the plate as instructed. Keep red line crossings at approximately 1 mm from the coil without touching the coil. Final checks: inspect for solder bridges, shorts, or bad joints before applying power. Use scenarios Classroom demonstration: show how frequency arcs can be modulated by audio signals to produce sound and light nearby gasdischarge lamps wirelessly. Home maker or lab project: build and tune the coil to explore arc length, waveform modulation, and component behavior while practicing soldering and assembly. Science fair exhibit: use the kit as an interactive display to demonstrate principles of voltage discharge, plasma, and wireless energy transfer. Precautions and handling Follow the assembly checklist and verify polarities and resistor values before powering the board. Do not touch the arc or parts that get hot during operation. Allow the heatsink and components to cool before handling. Maintain distance between the coil and nearby electronic devices such as phones and MP3 players to avoid interference or malfunction. Inspect for short circuits and soldering faults before connecting power. This kit is intended for users with basic soldering skills and familiarity with electronic components. It provides handson experience in power electronics, audio modulation of plasma arcs, and wireless energy demonstrations.
