Properties: Lingonberry or cranberry (Vaccinum Macrocarpon): The cranberry contains hippuric acid, quinic acid and flavonoids (proanthocyanidins) that are essential for the mechanisms of action that are carried out, preferably, in the urinary tract. In particular, they prevent potentially pathogenic agents from adhering to the mucous membranes and forming colonies, they counteract acute, recurrent and chronic discomfort, they contribute to the normalization of urinary pH and the partial reduction of urine odour. Bearberry: Bearberry titrated and standardized to 20% arbutin has antimicrobial activity. In bearberry there are also tannins, iridoids, ursolic acid that confer a protective action to the epithelium of the urinary tract and a diuretic activity. Orthosiphon: It is a typical medicinal plant from Southeast Asia, traditionally used for the health of the urinary system. The active ingredients of the plant are sinensetin and rosmarinic acid. Sinensetin increases diuresis and rosmarinic acid has antioxidant properties.
