Calasparra Brown Rice has been stored unpeeled to achieve optimum conservation. The husking process is carried out in stages according to its consumption. The quality and prestige of the calasparra rice are a consequence of the characteristics of the area where it is grown: the purity of the water, the particular arrangement of small plots in mountainous and broken areas of the Segura river and its tributary the Mundo river, the use of selected seeds and especially the organic farming system, which does not exhaust the richness of the soil. Place the rice in a container filled with water and stir with your hand; strain under running tap. Mix 1 part rice with 2.5 parts water. Heat the water and when it is boiling, add the rice and cover. Approximate cooking time: 40 minutes over low heat. This cooking suggestion allows the rice to remain loose. It can also be used in paella pans (minimum cooking time: 16 minutes) (first 10 minutes over high heat, then the rest over medium heat). Let stand for 5 minutes and serve. Store in a cool, dry place.
