Encryption note Before use, ensure the hard drive is not encrypted; encrypted drives may not be recognized when connected to a computer through this enclosure. Mode switching for 2011 and 2012 disks Two mode settings: 2011 mode reads 2011 hard disks, and 2012 mode reads 2012 hard disks. Interface and performance Output interfaces: 12+6 Pin and 18+8 Pin Data transfer speeds up to 6 Gbps Use scenarios Data recovery: access and retrieve files from an older MacBook Air drive by connecting it to a PC or another computer through the case. Drive upgrade or cloning: clone or transfer data when upgrading or replacing the internal MacBook Air drive. Archiving and access: temporarily house and access files from legacy drives for backup or crossdevice transfer.
